Beyond earth

What makes an environment extreme? How do humans live in such environments? How do they collectively adapt?

On the occasion of the publication of Séverin Guelpa’s book LE DESERT, LE GLACIER ET LA SUPERSTRUCTURE, which retraces 10 years of artistic practice in extreme environments, the artist has been invited by Swissnex San Francisco to present his work and exchange views with NASA biologist Lynn Rotschild, senior scientist, NASA ames research center in Santa Cruz, and antropologist Sarah E. Vaughn, associate professor of antropology at UC Berkeley.
